GeneJane's Colchester Families

Hello & Welcome - I am Jane (Currie) Wile & my passion is the genealogy of Colchester County, Nova Scotia - the home of my family and most of my ancestors since 1761. In 1976 I began gathering names & dates from family members and was nicknamed "Genealogy Jane" by my brother Tim. I soon found myself gathering the same for extended families, my friends, neighbors, co-workers... I had the bug :-) Over the years, my "family database" evolved into a county database of over 180,000 names & grows daily. My nickname was shortened to "GeneJane" when my homepage [GeneJane's Homepage] went online in 1998 - again, thanks to my brother Tim . In an effort to share my research, I began to publish books on the first families... my goal now is to publish a genealogy for each of the families who still have descendants living in the county. If you descend from a Colchester County family I would love hear from you - perhaps we are cousins !
